Phil Rudd court hearing delayed by change in lawyer
By Chris Cooke | Published on Monday 9 February 2015
Those of you looking forward to the crazy antics that will surely unfold when currently benched AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd next appears in court will have to wait a little bit longer. Because his next court hearing has been delayed due to a change in legal representation.
Rudd, of course, was last year charged with threatening to kill and drugs possession. He was due to appear in the Tauranga District Court this week, but that hearing was postponed last week after it emerged the drummer’s legal rep, Paul Mabey, was no longer working on the case. According to Stuff, the lawyer said his withdrawal from the case was amicable, and that it was “just a professional decision that we have made”.
It’s thought Rudd, who denies the charges made against him, will now return to court in April when new lawyer Craig Tuck is up to speed on the case.
