SoundCloud’s David Adams has told CMU more about the panel that he will be leading at this year’s Great Escape, which kicks off on 16 May in Brighton.

Adams’ panel ‘The Artist And The Start Up’ takes place at midday on Friday 17 May at Dukes@Komedia 2. Says Adams: “I’m interested in looking at what connects new companies in the music business with technology start-ups, in particular highlighting similarities in their creative origins, the buzzwords they use, and the way they grow to be established businesses”.

“The aim,” he adds, “is to draw on anecdotes, opinions and lessons learned from key players in both areas to demonstrate what’s relevant to any entrepreneurial mind, whether in music or tech. Hopefully by taking a step back and looking at larger trends, we can better understand the parallels between these two sectors, what each can learn from the other, and what transferable skills people working in both areas have to offer”.

Adams will be joined by BandApp’s Adam Perry, 33seconds’ Dominic Cook, Communion’s Jamie Emsell and The Orchard’s Scott Cohen for the session. A small number of delegate passes are still available for this year’s TGE convention here.
