Pacha New York is to mark its tenth anniversary by closing in January, it was announced last week. This follows the closure of the London branch of the famous clubbing franchise last year.

“The average nightclub lasts eighteen months – we lasted 120”, said Pacha New York’s President Eddie Dean. “It’s been a wild ride that none of us will ever forget. Our final parties will celebrate the different artists, styles, and scenes that have made Pacha great”.

There will be a series of tenth birthday shows throughout December – including the main party on 12 Dec, headlined by the club’s original resident DJ Erick Morillo – followed by various closing parties in January.

The reason for the closure, or what the future holds for the New York venue’s building (Pacha London having been closed to make way for a hotel), is not entirely clear.
