Ninja Tune announce 20th anniversary boxset

By | Published on Tuesday 11 May 2010

Ninja Tune can’t be twenty years old. It just can’t. I remember going out and buying the label’s tenth anniversary compilation just after it came out and I’m pretty certain that was only two or three years ago. Four at a push. If it was ten years ago then there’s a chance I might be getting old. But, hey, if they want to celebrate 20 years in the business, who am I to stop them?

To mark the end of Ninja Tune’s second decade, there are a whole load of events and more planned over the next few months, with the centrepiece being a massive boxset featuring loads of classic Ninja tunes and all kinds of exclusive stuff. The boxset comes in three sections, all featuring artwork by Openmind. Each section, or “case”, consists of the following:

Case 1: Six CDs of music (Two CDs will be material only available in this box set)
Case 2: Six seven-inch singles in a hardback book (all material only available in this box set), plus a Ninja family tree poster by Nigel Peake, sleeve cover poster and Ninja Tune XX sticker sheet
Case 3: Exclusive hardback edition of anniversary book ‘Ninja Tune: 20 Years Of Beats & Pieces’ by Stevie Chick (hardback edition only available in this box set)

The whole shebang will be released on 20 Sep and can be pre-ordered at a special early bird price from here.
