Nicki Minaj auctions custom Barbie doll for charity, debuts new track
By CMU Editorial | Published on Wednesday 7 December 2011
Pop-rap lady Nicki Minaj is auctioning off her own special edition Barbie doll for a good cause. Created in her likeness by Barbie makers Mattel, the ‘Her Minajesty’ doll models “wispy layers of silk charmeuse and shimmering tulle” in the style of Minaj, who herself cultivates a ‘Harajuku Barbie’ image, loves pink, and has nicknamed her fans ‘Barbz’.
With bids pushing $4000 at last glance, proceeds from sales will go to LA-based charity Project Angel Food, who deliver meals to people with life-threatening illnesses. You’ll find more details and some nice photos of the doll here.
Minaj has also just premiered the first official taste of her forthcoming second album, ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’. Listen to the track, which is titled ‘Roman In Moscow’, here:
