Organisers of The Great Escape today announce details of an exciting new event that will take place alongside this year’s festival called Blueprint, “a day of talks, debates and collaborations for people building and executing creative products and ideas in and around technology”.

Taking place on day three of the Great Escape festival and convention – Saturday 10 May – Blueprint will take over the Old Ship Hotel, and will bring together innovators and entrepreneurs from across the music, creative and tech communities to discuss how new creative tech ideas can become a reality.

Through a series of talks, interviews and case studies, the event will consider how great new ideas for music or creative tech ventures can be honed, developed and turned into viable business propositions, and will discuss the importance of connecting with the right people at the right time, including technologists, developers, creatives, rights owners, funders and mentors.

The event is being curated by Sam Taylor of CMU Insights, who says: “As you’d expect, we’ve noticed an ever increasing number of people from the tech community coming to The Great Escape in recent years, and through our convention programme, and events like the Digital Pitch Party, we’ve been able to formally invite some of our favourite developers, start-ups and innovators to speak and network. So it now seems right to have a standalone conference within The Great Escape that explores the tech start-up sector, and considers how the tech and creative industries could and should work better on realising exciting new ideas”.

As well as talking about how the tech, creator and content sectors can better work together, Blueprint will also initiate its own collaborations by hosting the first ever Samplethon with WhoSampled and Boosey & Hawkes. A specially-selected group of exciting record producers and remixers will amass on the Old Ship to collaborate and create some great new music live at the event.

Get more info here, where a full line up will also appear later this month. Access to Blueprint is open to all Great Escape delegates, plus standalone tickets for the event are now on sale for just £30, or £65 including a wristband to access all of the TGE festival shows taking place on the Saturday.
