Five years since the ‘Guitar Hero’ videogame series was shelved, it’s back (yes, just like rival ‘Rock Band’). And the list of songs that will appear in ‘Guitar Hero Live’ has been unveiled. Hooray! The music industry is saved!

“This [list] is something we gave a load of thought to”, Jamie Jackson of the company behind the relaunched game, FreeStyle, told Rolling Stone. “‘Guitar Hero’ – by its name alone – has always been associated with classic rock tracks. And we know fans really love that type of music. So we wanted to make sure those fans weren’t disappointed”.

He went on: “But it’s been ten years since the first ‘Guitar Hero’ game came out. When you think of it like that, and think about how much the musical landscape has changed since then – that’s where we’ve been able to explore some new types of musical style as well. Guitar music is broader than it’s ever been – so we’re reflecting that in the range of music on offer”.

And so, here’s that list of 24 songs you can jab along with in the new game, which is due out in the autumn.
