Neil Fox to return to the airwaves with new digital station for London

Neil Fox is returning to radio via a new digital station launching in London called Thames Radio. He will host a weekly Saturday morning show for the new station.
Fox was last heard on air as presenter of Magic’s breakfast show in September 2014. He went off the air after being arrested over allegations of indecent assault, though was later cleared of all ten of the subsequent charges made against him. But he didn’t return to Magic after prevailing in court.
Confirming his new radio gig, Fox said: “I can’t wait to get back on-air in the greatest city on Earth! Playing London’s all-time favourite songs and being able to talk about everything that’s happening in the place in which I live, and love, as well as being re-united with some great friends and colleagues from the past, is going to be an absolute blast. This is the station I have wanted to listen to for years, but it simply didn’t exist. Until now!”
What colleagues from the past are there, then? Well, Pat Sharp for one, who will host Sunday mornings. Because Welsh radio firm Nation Broadcasting, which is behind the new digital channel, wants to bring back the hey day of London’s Capital Radio from the 1980s and 1990s, partly by hiring in some of that station’s former DJs.
Commenting on the new venture, Nation’s Jason Bryant said: “As London’s existing music stations have moved to become UK-wide services, we see an opportunity to introduce a truly London-focussed, great music and personality driven radio service to the world’s greatest capital city. We’re so excited to bring Neil and Pat back to London’s airwaves, and we look forward to welcoming further big names to Thames in the coming months”.
