By | Published on Wednesday 16 May 2018

Thirty Six Minutes

Thirty Six Minutes is a leading independent UK company specialising in placing music in film, trailers, TV Programmes and adverts. We are a small, tightly knit unit comprising of a music supervision department (ThinkSync Music) backed up by a music publishing company, a record company and a music placement team.

We currently publish an extraordinarily broad range of music from traditional folk though pop and film soundtracks to avant garde electronica.

Our office is open plan and provides surroundings perfect for the interchange of ideas, involvement in all aspects of our daily work and an ideal learning environment. Everyone is strongly encouraged to cultivate their individual role and take responsibility for their activities whilst benefitting from the shared experience and knowledge of the whole crew.

The role

We are looking for a Creative Manager for our publishing company; someone with hands-on experience from working with music whether in music publishing or from a media company where their job was actively choosing the music to fit AV projects. I’m afraid we aren’t looking for people whose background is predominantly as a producer, DJs, musician, in events or anyone straight from college for this particular position.

The job is very wide ranging; the working day can encompass anything from bringing new talent on board to writing newsletters, from dealing with copyright organisations to pitching for commercials, from discussing film scores with composers to updating our website. Busy… but never boring.

Key skills

• Highly organised – multi-tasking capabilities are a necessity
• Excellent time management skills and able to work to tight deadlines
• Two years experience in Music Publishing and/or Music AV placement
• A good understanding of master and publishing rights and experience with music copyright
• Comfortable with web content management systems
• Knowledgeable about and film and TV music requirements
• A skill for writing descriptively about music
• Not a ‘clock watcher’
• Personable and outgoing with strong networking skills
• Can balance business and pleasure
• There’s a huge social aspect to the role but being fresh and on the ball the next morning is equally important
