Job ad: New Citizens – Head Of Marketing (Leeds)

New Citizens

New Citizens is an established leading events company within the music, food and drink sector, based in the North of England. Working on a number of projects from Leeds-based multipurpose events space Canal Mills to Workshop – a pop-up restaurant and cocktail bar – New Citizens have a wide portfolio of established events.

About the role

You’ll be responsible for driving and increasing ticket sales, brand awareness and positive association for the projects/events you’ll be working on.

As the Head of Marketing at New Citizens, you’ll be the person that connects the dots and needs to liaise with many departments and stakeholders to ensure brand communication is clear and seamless; these include the likes of Business Development, Sales, Design, Operations, Artist Liaison/Bookings, PR, Senior Management and Directors.

Working above and alongside the company’s current Marketing Manager, it is the Head of Marketing’s role to deliver a successful campaign across all touch points, platforms and mediums that support and achieve the business objectives for the event.

This person will have a passion for music, food and cultural events and festivals, which is truly key to this role. You’ll be experienced, able to work well under pressure, motivated, proactive and have excellent attention to detail.

You’ll be responsible for the following:

Strategy and planning


• Devise a yearly top line Marketing Campaign for the company that delivers the overall marketing aims and objectives set by the Directors for the company as a whole
• Developing bespoke campaigns for each of the company brands, which will include sub digital strategies, announcements and launches than throughout the year

Campaign management


• Devise marketing proposals for all launches during the campaign and manage the various external agencies to deliver content
• Ensure all touch points are included within launches, including the likes of: socials, mailers, artwork, media, PR, social advertising, retargeting, Google marketing, text outs, events and print campaigns
• Ensuring partners, artists, ambassadors and resident DJs are sharing content and are informed about key dates.

Content curation


• Curating all artwork briefs and managing any agencies or workloads involving creating content
• Writing all copy for social posts, proposals, external output, promotion and the website
• Organising all video briefs and managing any agencies or workloads involving creating content
• Organising any online advertising content and managing any agencies or workloads involving creating content
• Organising print advertising content and managing any agencies or workloads involving creating content
• Organising all photography briefs and managing any agencies or workloads involving creating content

Budget management

• Overseeing the marketing budget for each project, ensuring spends are logged, costs are coming in within budget and that additional costs are approved by the Directors
• Organising and raising invoices and liaising with accounts to ensure funds are available
• Ensuring at all times actual spends meet projected budget spends, as the Marketing Budget informs part of the overall Project Budget for the event

Website management


• Monitoring Web performance constantly using software such as Google Analytics and Hot Jar to gain insight and inform marketing decisions
• Producing all content included on the general maintenance of the website
• Updating and making any website amends and optimising performance

Advertising


• Proposing advertising plans across online touch points including of the following means; retargeting/remarketing, social advertising, Google marketing, SEO and more
• Monitoring and reporting on performance and results
• Liaising with external agencies to achieve successful campaigns and effective budget spending. • Monitoring budgets and overseeing spending activity
• Organising physical/outdoor/print campaigns including billboards, flyers, posters and alternative methods

Social media and community management

• Social Media Management of all social platforms and all team members working on community and social management
• Curating all Social Content and managing any team members producing this
• Publishing and scheduling all content
• Planning and strategising social media and digital plans
• Monitoring campaigns daily, weekly and monthly
• Optimising social performance and ensuring the brand is utilising best practice at all times
• Researching, exploring and investigating new platforms, trends and tech that can push the brand forwards
• Engaging in social listening and conversation with potential customers and fans/followers
• Ensuring communication and queries from fans and customers is always dealt with via socials, website, email etc

Reporting


• Reporting on Marketing campaigns and performance weekly and monthly to ensure insight constantly informs decisions
• Producing 24 hour reports after all launches and announcements

Monitoring partners and performance

• Ensuring partner, company, ambassadors, artists, agents, food traders, PR and social agencies, are sharing content and are informed about key dates

Promotional events

• Ensure club partner events are on track and partners producing marketing content as agreed • Organising any relevant promotional or marketing material required for promotional events (trade shows, club partner shows etc)
• Overseeing promotional events e.g. Club & Trade shows and managing relationships with partner brands.

PR

• Managing and overseeing external PR agencies
• Organising press releases, media alerts and activity alongside the agency, approving releases and feeding key information in
• Organising and negotiating media partnerships and deals alongside the PR agency
• Monitoring performance and pick up of all media and PR and making sure the PR feeds into marketing objectives
• Liaising with media and providing relevant promotional assets and material

Skills and attributes

• You’ll need at least three years experience in marketing
• Experience in music, food and culture events or marketing specifically is preferable for this role
• You’ll have advanced digital and social media knowledge
• Any additional digital qualifications are preferable for this role as a passion for keeping abreast and ahead of digital trends and best practice is a must
• You’ll have excellent time management skills and able to project manage large projects and liaise and manage other team members or external agencies to ensure deliverables are met
• You’ll have experience managing or liaising with team members both internally and externally
• You’ll have experience reporting and presenting to senior management, directors and shareholders
• You’ll be a self sufficient and autonomous, a ‘problem solver’ with a ‘Can Do’ attitude that will see projects through to a successful end

Job Title: New Citizens Head of Marketing
Location: Leeds
Package: £24,000 – £28,00 dependant on experience
Hours: 9am – 6pm Monday to Friday. However, there will be times when you will be expected to work past these hours and occasionally weekends.
