By CMU Editorial | Published on Wednesday 18 March 2009
Colin Murray is leaving BBC Radio 1 after ten years, and will become a sports presenter for sister station Radio 5 Live, where he already presents Saturday morning show ‘Fighting Talk’.
Nick Grimshaw, who currently presents weekend mornings on Radio 1, will take over Murray’s weekday late night slot. Commenting on his new appointment, Grimshaw said this: “Doing an evening show for Radio 1 is something I’ve always dreamed of and I can’t wait to start”.
In sort of related news – well, it’s Radio 1 news – the nation’s favourite has announced that their Big Weekend mini-festival will take place in Swindon this year, on 9 May. N-Dubz and Snow Patrol have already been confirmed.
