Midlands-based local radio group sells Leicestershire station Oak FM
By Chris Cooke | Published on Tuesday 4 August 2015
Radio group Quidem Midlands has sold Oak FM, the Leicestershire-based station operating on two frequencies, which it acquired in 2012.
A web and content services company called ATR Media has taken over the station, moving into radio for the first time, and noting that “we see many exciting synergies between our existing media assets and Oak FM. Combining radio, online and local press creates a powerful platform for Oak FM’s future growth”.
Confirming the deal, Quidem boss Steve Orchard is quoted by Radio Today thus: “Quidem is now able to concentrate on the further development of its core business. Our award winning portfolio of six West Midlands-based commercial radio stations is enjoying strong growth, and our independent radio production arm, which was recently honoured at the New York Radio Festival, also has a great deal of further growth potential”.
