Madonna’s Meerkat video premiere falls even flatter than expected

Madonna’s new single is called ‘Ghosttown’, so it seems appropriate that she chose the new app network being abandoned most rapidly – Meerkat – to premiere the video yesterday. And even more appropriate that when the allotted launch time arrived, no video emerged at all.

Having heavily trailed the big Meerkat reveal on Twitter, as well as behind the scenes footage on Tidal, when the time came no video arrived, with those attempting to view it met with an error page instead.

Meerkat CEO told TheNextWeb that there were “no scalability issues”, seemingly placing problems at the singer’s end instead. The stream was deleted shortly after it was supposed to go live, but they’ll apparently have another go today here.

In February, Madonna premiered the video for ‘Living For Love’ on Snapchat, despite Radio 1’s continued insistence that she shouldn’t bother trying to engage The Kids.
