Conflicting rumours that former Warner Music recorded music chief Lyor Cohen was planning to launch a record label or a management company could both be true, with the New York Post reporting that the record industry veteran is planning to launch a new business that would incorporate both a label and talent development wing.

The paper says that Cohen is in talks with various possible financial backers about launching a new music-focused company, that would operate as both a label and management business, while also possibly investing in other music ventures, including digital set ups.
