By Chris Cooke | Published on Tuesday 20 January 2015
Live Nation recently announced yet more global expansion via a joint venture with Thailand-based entertainment firm BEC-Tero.
The new company, Live Nation BEC-Tero, will promote concerts by Western, J-Pop and K-Pop artists in the region, a pursuit in which BEC-Tero’s concerts division is already a market leader locally. The joint venture will be led by Neil Thompson, who has been working in the Thailand music industry for over two decades.
Confirming the alliance, Live Nation chief Michael Rapino told reporters: “This represents another important step in increasing Live Nation’s global presence and ensuring we can offer fans, artists and sponsors a seamless service across the world”.
Meanwhile BEC-Tero director Brian Marcar said: “BEC-Tero has long been a leader in entertainment in Thailand and joining with Live Nation, which has an immense portfolio of artists, festivals and international tours, will offer great growth opportunities”.
