Lil Wayne suffers seizures, but not at death’s door

Lil Wayne took to Twitter on Friday night to assure his fans that he wasn’t quite at death’s door. The rapper had required hospital treatment earlier in the week after suffering “multiple seizures”, paralleling health issues the hip hop star suffered back in October too.
TMZ then reported that Wayne, having initially been discharged from hospital, had returned just hours later after collapsing again, and this time was in a coma and near death. Talks of family members rushing to be by his side and the last rites being dished out also circulated.
But, while Wayne did indeed suffer seizures last week, the latter reports turned out to be false. Wayne himself tweeted on Friday night: “I’m good everybody, thanks for the prayers and love”, while a spokesman told reporters the death’s door rumours were ill-founded, adding that “Lil Wayne is recovering”.
Long-term friend of Wayne, and President of his Young Money imprint, fellow rapper Mack Maine later took to Twitter to confirm everything was OK. “Wayne is alive and well! We [are] watching the Syracuse game… thanks for the prayers and concern”, he tweeted, before adding: “We will be releasing an official statement shortly but don’t believe the nonsense about comas and tubes to breathe… that’s false!”
