Lil Wayne did not cancel UK tour because of visa issues
By CMU Editorial | Published on Monday 11 April 2011
Management for Lil Wayne have denied reports that recently circulated to the effect that the hip hopper had to cancel plans to tour the UK after British officials refused him a visa on the basis of his past law breaking. Wayne’s reps insist that, while a UK tour is being considered, no actual plans had been made and therefore no visa application has even been submitted.
Wayne’s management said in a statement this weekend: “No visa was ever filed, nor were there any tour dates announced, or tickets sold. Lil Wayne is currently headlining his I Am Still Music Tour across the US and Canada with plans to extend the tour through North America this summer. We hope to bring the I Am Still Music Tour to the UK in the latter half of the year”.
Whether visa issues will then kick in remains to be seen. Perhaps The Guardian, who first reported on Wayne’s alleged visa issues, are sourcing stories from the future.
