Lady Gaga to star in A Star Is Born remake, announces new single

How many movie remakes is too many? In most cases, one is pushing it. ‘A Star Is Born’ though, that’s already had two. Does the world really need a fourth telling of the film on the big screen? Probably not. Would it be any different if Lady Gaga took the lead role? Well, that’s what we’re about to find out.
Warner Bros has announced that Gaga is to star in a remake of the film, in a role previously depicted by Janet Gaynor, Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand. She will appear alongside Bradley Cooper, who will also direct. The musician will also write new songs for the musical, so that’s nice.
“For those of us lucky enough to watch him work as an actor and producer, it has been clear that Bradley would make this transition to director”, says producer Greg Silverman. “We are honoured that he is doing it, here, at his home – Warner Bros – and with Lady Gaga as a collaborator and co-star. The world is in for a treat as these great artists craft an all new vision of ‘A Star Is Born'”.
Yeah, like I said, we’ll wait and see on that. Gaga was not actually the first choice for the film, though apparently Beyonce wasn’t confident that the world needed version four.
Lady Gaga also announced yesterday that she’ll release a new single called ‘Perfect Illusion’ next month.
