Korn hire twelve year old bassist for South American dates
By Andy Malt | Published on Tuesday 11 April 2017
Korn will perform a run of South American shows later this month with a twelve year old standing in for bassist Reginald ‘Fieldy’ Arvizu. I have checked and this is seemingly not a delayed April Fool. It’s not just any twelve year old though, this one’s Tye Trujillo, the son of Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo. Still. Bit weird.
“We are bummed Fieldy can’t join us on this run but excited to do a few gigs with a young player like Tye”, say the band. “We look forward to welcoming our brother Fieldy back when we return to the States in May”.
The shows in Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru commence in Bogota on 17 Apr.
