Kilimanjaro Live has joined the Association Of Independent Festivals, with its top man Stuart Galbraith joining the trade body’s board.

The concert and festival promotions business of former Live Nation UK chief Galbraith now qualifies for AIF membership following the end of his business alliance with live entertainment major AEG Live, which was originally a shareholder in Kili Live. Galbraith took complete ownership of the company last year. By joining AIF, the Kili man formally brings festivals Wakestock, Vans Warped Tour and Sonisphere into the independent festival community.

Galbraith told CMU yesterday: “Kilimanjaro are delighted to be joining AIF, bringing with us the festival brands we’re involved with – including Wakestock, Vans Warped and Sonisphere. We’re already enjoying working with the independent entrepreneurs that are driving so many wonderful festivals throughout the UK and look forward to sharing information and experiences with them going forward”.

A number of other indie festivals have also recently allied with AIF, including Tramlines, In The Woods, Greenbelt, London Summer Jam, Folk On The Water, Brecon Jazz, Larmer Tree, Festibelly, Imaginadium, Open House Festival, Blissfields and SWN.
