Kendrick Lamar meets with Barack Obama
By Andy Malt | Published on Wednesday 13 January 2016
Having penned Barack Obama’s favourite track of 2015, Kendrick Lamar popped down to the old White House the other day to chat with the old Prez about the National Mentoring Partnership and the benefits of young people having mentors, as Lamar did.
“As a kid, having a mentor was vital to me”, says Lamar in a video published following the meeting. “Always being there when it counted, [my mentor] allowed me to make some of the most important decisions while growing up. I sat down with President Barack Obama and shared the same views – topics concerning the inner cities, the problem, the solutions and furthermore, embracing the youth – both being aware that mentoring saves lives”.
