Ke$ha has revealed that she’ll spend longer in rehab than expected, cancelling a series of live dates in March/April in a bid to, she says, “follow my doctor’s advice and get my health back on track”.

As previously reported, Ke$ha, real name Kesha Rose Sebert, checked in to the Timberline Knolls Center in Chicago at the start of the year, the idea being that she’d take a 30 day break to begin to deal with an eating disorder.

Her mother Pebe Sebert told People last month that her daughter “almost died” of complications relating to anorexia and bulimia, adding: “At this point, she doesn’t care if she ever makes a record again. She just wants to be healthy and happy”.

Sebert Sr later claimed that Ke$ha’s ex-manager David Sonenberg, aka Dr Luke, had played a part in her illnesses escalating, saying: “One time on a conference call, Sonenberg was screaming, ‘You need to lose weight! I don’t care what you do… take drugs, not eat, stick your finger down your throat!'”

But denying any blame in a statement issued via People, Dr Luke, who’s since been receiving death threats from angry Ke$ha fans, said: “It is unfortunate that at a time Ke$ha is suffering immensely and trying to heal at a treatment centre, her mother is taking this approach with the media. I give Ke$ha my utmost support and well wishes for a quick return to health”.
