Ke$ha, Brad Paisley and Ludacris join America’s Rising Star
By Aly Barchi | Published on Monday 19 May 2014
Ke$ha, Brad Paisley and Ludacris will all lend their ears (and eyes, faces, and selves in general) to a brand new ‘American Idol’-esque singing series, ABC’s imminent ‘Rising Star’. This is the same nightmarishly interactive ‘Rising Star’ franchise, which invites app-based voting in real time, that ITV acquired back in late-2013 (though is still to air), it having been a massive hit in its native Israel.
Premiering Stateside from 22 Jun, the show will display Ke$ha et al as a ‘panel of experts’ giving advice and feedback to contestants. Whilst they’ll get to air their views, the ultimate decision as to who wins and who doesn’t lies with the TV-having citizens of America. Yee-ha! Preview the way the ‘Rising Star’ voting system – which involves a vast, moving ‘video wall’ – will look via this clip.
