Jonas Brothers do licensing deal with Universal
By Chris Cooke | Published on Thursday 11 April 2013
The Jonas Brothers have signed an almost worldwide licensing deal (US excluded) with Universal Music, which will distribute the pop outfit’s upcoming fifth album as well as representing catalogue recordings for both the group and its constituent members.
Universal has previously worked with the pop act in the UK and US via its partnerships with their original label, Disney’s Hollywood Records, though the new deal covers all territories except America and is direct with the band’s own venture Jonas Enterprises.
Confirming the deal, Universal’s Andrew Kronfeld told CMU: “The Jonas Brothers are part of the pop music industry’s bedrock and we’re delighted they’ve chosen us to support their welcome return”.
Meanwhile the brothers added in perfect unison: “We are really excited about this new chapter in our career and looking forward to working with the team at Universal Music to deliver our music to a global audience”.
