You might have forgotten that there were actually Jonas brothers other than Nick, but Universal Music Publishing Group hasn’t. Oh no, earlier this week it signed up Joe to a worldwide deal covering all the songs he’s written for his new band DNCE. And that includes the outfit’s ludicrously-named debut single ‘Cake By The Ocean’, which was released last year.

“It takes a very special artist to achieve worldwide success in one group, and then to achieve that same kind of success again in another one”, says UPMG CEO Jody Gerson, slightly prematurely. “Joe Jonas is that rare talent, having scored hits as a singer and songwriter first with the Jonas Brothers and now with DNCE. His creativity, hard work and passion are remarkable and I’m THRILLED to have him join UMPG’s roster of great artists and writers”.

Jonas himself adds: “I’ve had the opportunity to work with the team at UMPG from the inception of DNCE and they’ve been an essential part of breaking the band. This deal with them further solidifies our relationship and allows me to continue to stay true to my vision and what I love most, in addition to where I’m taking DNCE”.

If you’re in the US and want to know where it might be that Joe Jonas is planning to take DNCE, you will find him literally taking the band on tour supporting Selena Gomez over the summer.
