Jay-Z, Beyonce and Britney Spears are among a handful of US celebrities and other public figures who have had financial details stolen and published online by hackers.
In addition to the music stars, First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, former Vice Presidential hopeful Sarah Palin, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, FBI Director Robert Mueller, Attorney General Eric Holder, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Mel Gibson, Ashton Kutcher and Donald Trump have also been targeted.
Those involved have not commented on the accuracy of the data, which includes social security numbers, loan details and credit reports, though some details do correspond with other publicly available information.
