Jarvis Cocker “kind of disturbed” by nine year old’s “incredible” Pulp karaoke performance

Hey, so as part of a screening of Pulp documentary ‘A Film About Life, Death And Supermarkets’ in New York last week, Jarvis Cocker and director Florian Habicht judged a karaoke competition. It was won by a nine year old singing the band’s 1998 porn-themed classic ‘This Is Hardcore’.
I’m not sure what the other performances were like, but Habicht has posted footage of Graham Johnson’s winning performance and it’s hard to see how you could give the prize to anyone else.
Cocker told Johnson: “I have to say, that is one of the most incredible things I have ever witnessed. In some ways I was kind of disturbed by it, but I think the way that you sang the song was amazing. And I think you have got a really great voice. I will not forget that ever”.
