Ja Rule out of prison
By Chris Cooke | Published on Wednesday 8 May 2013
I think it’s the rule in the American criminal justice system that as one hip hop star goes into jail, another is let free.
Which is possibly why, as Lauryn Hill was sentenced to three months in the slammer on Monday, Mr Ja Rule was let out of jail yesterday after serving a couple of years time in relation to weapons charges and his own round of unpaid tax bills.
The rapper, real name Jeffrey Atkins, served sentences for his gun and tax crimes concurrently. Although out of jail, he will reportedly be confined to his home until 28 Jul.
