It’s all gone Pete Tong MBE
By Andy Malt | Published on Wednesday 5 March 2014
Long-serving Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong has gone and got himself an MBE off of that there Prince William. As previously reported, Tong was amongst the most recent random list of peoples to be given an establishment honour at the very end of 2013.
Speaking to the BBC ahead of the actual regal badge-pinning ceremony, Tong said: “I’ve been standing here for a few hours waiting to do this and still have to pinch myself. I’ve spent my career doing something I love, playing records. There are so many worthy people here today, I feel quite humbled by all the servicemen, policemen and the charity workers and people like that. So I count myself lucky to be recognised in this way”.
So that’s nice, isn’t it? For him.
