Imogen Heap to be Brighter Sound’s next artist in residence

Imogen Heap will be the next artist in residence for Manchester-based music development organisation Brighter Sound next month. Over five days she will work with twelve songwriters, musicians, producers and music entrepreneurs from across the North West on a performance to take place at Manchester’s Band On The Wall venue on the final day.
“Who knows what’s going to happen”, says Heap. “I’d like to begin the song writing process with the morning papers, tea and discussion, and perhaps by the end of the week have a release of our recorded song and video. [And], alongside this, an exhibition with all the data we can possibly muster about the work. There are so many facets to being a recording artist, and technology is moving so incredibly fast, it’s vital artists are brought into the front and centre [because] these technologies shape our own futures”.
