House Of Black Lanterns announces debut album
By Andy Malt | Published on Friday 8 March 2013
Producer Dylan Richards, who has formerly released as King Cannibal through Ninja Tune and Zilla through Warp, has announced the debut album from his latest musical guise, House Of Black Lanterns. Entitled ‘Kill The Lights’, it will be released through new Fabric imprint Houndstooth on 29 Apr, preceded by the single, ‘Truth & Loss’, on 25 Mar.
While maintaining the dark edge of his earlier work, with HOBL Richards weaves through a broader range of electronic music genres this time. Or, as he puts it: “House Of Black Lanterns is firstly about suspense, space and depth. It’s more restrained than anything I have worked on before; that threat of violence is buried deep in texture rather than worn outwardly on my sleeve”.

House Of Black Lanterns will also be playing live at the Houndstooth launch night at Fabric on 12 Apr, with Throwing Snow, Akkord, Special Request, Call Super and Al Tourettes. More info here.
