HMV open next gen store in London

More music retail, and HMV has announced it will bring one of its ‘next generation’ stores to the capital. The new look shop will be in the new Westfield Centre which is opening in White City, West London at the end of the month.
The store will be opened by an interesting line up of stars, including new girl group The Saturdays, the unstoppable Leona Lewis and rock god, erm, Boris Johnson. Being a ‘next gen’ store you can expect lots of digital whatnots, with preview kiosks that allow content to be bought and downloaded straight to USB stick. Lovely.
HMV MD Simon Fox told reporters: “We’re very excited to bring our next-generation store concept to London, and to the Westfield Centre in particular, which I’m sure will prove a wonderful showcase for it. The store will feature many elements of our retail blueprint going forward… which, combined with a fantastic range of ‘physical’ product, will serve to further underline HMV’s growing credentials as the UK’s leading multi-channel retail specialist”.
