HMV commercial chief moved into MAMA
By CMU Editorial | Published on Wednesday 19 May 2010
HMV announced two internal appointments yesterday, which apparently further the growing entertainment firm’s continued “strategic development as a multi-channel entertainment brand”, which sounds like super good fun. It also sees further integration between the HMV Group and its recent acquisition, the MAMA Group.
HMV’s former Commercial Director, Gary Warren, moves into a senior role at MAMA, as MD Of Content & Talent. He will oversee MAMA’s artist management division and be responsible for promoting shows across the MAMA venue network, which covers rather a lot of the division’s operations. He’ll report to MAMA’s existing CEO Dean James, though will presumably have a remit to HMVify the MAMA business.
Back in the main bit of HMV, Steve Napelton, currently Supply Chain Director, will replace Warren as Commercial Director.
HMV top man Simon Fox told CMU: “Both these appointments are of strategic importance to HMV and potentially of significant value to our suppliers and their artists. In taking on this exciting new role at MAMA, Gary can play a key part in bringing our live and retail businesses more closely together, with all the benefits and synergies this will create”.
