Has Apple bought the iCloud domain?

A Swedish company called Xcerion has rebranded its digital locker service from iCloud to CloudMe, according to tech website GigaOM. So why’s that important to us? Well, the site also cites sources as saying the Swedish firm’s rebrand was in part motivated by the fact it sold the iCloud.com domain to Apple for $4.5 million. If true, that only adds to speculation that Apple’s expansion of its cloud storage services – possibly with a high profile music and movie based service linked to iTunes – is getting ever closer.
