Fat White Family

Xfm will present sets by Jake Bugg, Primal Scream, Chvrches, Temples and The Vaccines amidst its live Winter Wonderland shows in Manchester and London. The 1975, Kodaline, Josh Record and Darlia join Bugg and Scream at the Manchester Apollo on 10 Dec, whilst The Vaccines, Churches and Temples lead a London line-up (at the Brixton Academy on 12 Dec) featuring Miles Kanye, Lewis Watson and White Lies.

Takings from all tickets sold will go to War Child, so go to this link for info.

Moving on to a show that’s as far from Xfm’s wholesome Wonderland as its possible to go: blues-rock no-goods Fat White Family‘s (pictured) headlining ‘Slide In’ slot at the 100 Club. It’s on 10 Dec, and will promote the band’s various doings, which are: the 18 Nov release of ‘Heaven On Earth’ (aka the final single off their first LP ‘Champagne Holocaust’), a split EP with ‘cave-punks’ Tamanshud, and a role in NME’s November Radar tour. Details on the 100 Club night, which co-stars Ben The Rebel, The Nuns and Quietus DJs, are here.

Third and finally, it’s Dum Dum Girls (again), who deserve an extra name-check for playing a show in December. It’s in London (again, sorry), at the Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen, on 14 Dec, and will back up the band’s just-announced new LP, ‘Too True’, which you can read a bit about here.
