Gigs & tours round-up: Dolly Parton, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, and Architects

Despite being involved in a “fender bender” earlier in the week, in which she sustained minor injuries, the show, or shows, must go on for Dolly Parton, who’s just announced a world tour. Its UK portion will begin on 8 Jun 2014 at Liverpool’s Echo Arena, and continue on till 27 Jun and a London stop-in at The O2. Find full listings and a terrifying picture here.
And what do you know, folk ensemble Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros are touring in 2014 too, visiting Glasgow’s ABC (6 Feb), Dublin’s Olympia Theatre (8 Feb) and London’s Brixton Academy (11 Feb) in support of the LP with which they share their moniker. Info on all the dates is at this page.
Add to that the five shows Epitaph Records’ newest ignings, metalcore band Architects, are playing between 7 Mar and 14 Mar 2014 (dates here), and that’s a nice lot of live activity to fill those gig diaries with. Not that anyone has a ‘gig diary’. Anyway, bye!
