George Michael releasing live orchestral LP
By Aly Barchi | Published on Tuesday 21 January 2014
Ol George Michael has thrown together a live LP recorded over the course of his tour of 2011/2012, on which he had a full orchestra as accompaniment.
Titled ‘Symphonica’, as was the tour, it’s composed of a mix of George’s own hits (‘A Different Corner’, ‘Praying For Time’, ‘Through’ kind of thing), and covers of Nina Simone’s ‘My Baby Just Cares For Me’, and Elton John’s ‘Idol’, and ‘Wild Is The Wind’.
It comes co-produced by Phil Ramone, who worked with George on its fourteen songs before his death in March of 2013, of a brain aneurysm.
