Gary Glitter, real name Paul Gadd, has submitted an appeal against his conviction for sexual crimes against children in the late 70s and early 80s.

As previously reported, in March the former musician was jailed for sixteen years after being found guilty of four counts of indecent assault, one of attempted rape, and one of having sex with a girl under the age of thirteen.

He maintained his innocence throughout, but at sentencing was told by the judge presiding that he had done “real and lasting damage” to his victims.

It is not currently clear which counts Gadd is appealing.
