Gary and Robbie in the studio together
By CMU Editorial | Published on Wednesday 1 April 2009
Okay, that’s only a slightly misleading headline. Really, only very slightly. Gary Barlow is currently recording in the same building as Robbie Williams. Robbie has been working on his new album with Trevor Horn at the producer’s Sarm West studios, where Gary has just set up shop too. Horn told the BBC: “They’re all in the building. Gary is in one of the rooms and Robbie’s there, so they bump into each other and they get on brilliantly well”.
Which is lovely. The Take That camp, by the way, have played down rumours that Robbie will join the group on their next tour later this year. Tab reports suggested some kind of announcement about a full Take That reunion were upcoming, but the group themselves have denied there are currently any plans for Williams to rejoin them later this year, even though they’re not against the idea in theory.
Jason Orange quite wisely added that, while Robbie may have been talking about a reunion of late, that journalists should remember his former band-mate is prone to saying such things on a whim. He said this week: “Robbie will tell you himself, he’s quite changeable, so he will say on his website or some video that he wants to get back with the band and then he’ll say in the next moment: ‘Maybe I’ll do my own thing'”.
