Frightened Rabbit

Warner/Atlantic-signed quintet Frightened Rabbit have detailed a new EP based on (and named after) ‘Late March, Death March’, as features on their 2013 LP ‘Pedestrian Verse’. In addition to original and ‘alternate’ versions of the title single, the five-track EP carries a B-side in ‘The Architect’ – a collaboration with the Manchester Orchestra – and live recordings of ‘Decembers Traditions’ and ‘The Oil Slick’.

The band’s Scott Hutchinson says: “This song takes a fairly commonplace, mundane event (an argument on the way home from a night of drinking) and adds a fair bit of melodrama, mimicking the gasoline effect of pouring drink on an argument, I suppose. I’ve always loved elevating ‘the everyday’ into something larger and louder than it actually is. These small things can seem so serious and earth shattering at the time, then you wake up and you can see how daft you both were”.

If you like, you can play ‘Late March, Death March’ and ‘The Architect’ in advance of the EP’s official 4 Jun release date:

Frightened Rabbit will headline London’s Brixton Academy on 8 Nov.
