Free Kanye West show in Armenia shut down by police

A free Kanye West show at Swan Lake in Yerevan, Armenia was cut short by police last night, after the rapper jumped into the (shallow) waters of said lake followed by many of his onlooking fans.

As FACT reports, the show lasted just under 20 minutes, in which time West performed six songs. During ‘Good Life’ he stepped out into the knee-high waters, at which point he was mobbed by fans who ran in from around the lake.

The show, announced on Twitter by West’s wife Kim Kardashian, was being live-streamed on YouTube by Armenian news service First, which captured the whole incident. Fans hung around for a while after police shut down the show in the hope that it would restart, but eventually gave up and wandered off.

Kardashian later tweeted about the show, though didn’t reference its brevity, writing: “Thousands of people were there! Kanye jumped in Swan Lake to be closer to the crowd on the other side and so many people jumped in too!”
