Flavor Flav’s fried chicken dream is over

Flavor Flav’s third fried chicken restaurant has closed, after losing a battle with its landlord against eviction.

As previously reported, the Public Enemy member opened his first chicken restaurant as a joint venture in Iowa in 2011, but asked for his name to be taken off the eatery four months later, due to allegations of mismanagement. He then tried again in Las Vegas, that business lasting just six months. Finally, he opened Flavor Flav’s Chicken & Ribs in Michigan earlier this year, but now that has closed for good too.

Flav and his business partners were accused of being behind on the rent. Initially they claimed they were withholding rent payments because their landlord had failed to fix a faulty heater, but that didn’t seem to stop said landlord applying for an eviction order.

Last month a court delayed eviction to allow landlord and tenants to reach a deal over unpaid rent. But, according to TMZ, that did not happen, so the court has now allowed eviction to proceed, leading to the closure of Flavor Flav’s Chicken & Ribs.
