Flavor Flav quits the chicken business
By CMU Editorial | Published on Wednesday 27 April 2011
Public Enemy’s Favor Flav has announced that he is taking his name off friend chicken restaurant, Flav’s Fried Chicken in Iowa. Since it opened four months ago, the restaurant has been criticised from various angles, including by some former employees who recently claimed that they had not been paid, which co-founder and manager Nick Cimino put down to a “credit card glitch”.
The rapper, who now plans to open a new restaurant in Las Vegas called Flavor Flav’s House Of Flavor, told local TV station WQAD-TV on Sunday that he had made the decision to pull out of Flav’s Fried Chicken because Cimino “isn’t running the business right”. Cimino retaliated by saying that his former business partner was “a fraud”, adding: “I came up with the idea and now he wants to run without me? That’s fine … I’m just glad I’m free of somebody like Flavor Flav”.
