Secret Garden Festival

This week I’m getting very excited about Secret Garden. It’s that time of year when the music business comes back from Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Dubai or The Caribbean and shit gets booked. I’ve almost got the whole line up together for this year’s Remix stage, with help from the lovely boys and girls at Ninja Tune, who I’m partnering up with this year.

So there’s scoop 1: It’ll be called The Remix vs Ninja Tune Tent, where you’ll see the likes of Daedelus and The Qemists rub shoulders with Stereo:Type and Freeland.

Scoop 2: I will still giveaway some DJ slots there, to you in the Remix Community. I can’t pay you a fee this year, as I’ve had my budget cut by seven grand because of the old credit crunch, but you’ll still get on the bill, and get two free passes to the festival, and beers. In fact, let’s start this up now: send me the names of the three tracks (artist and title) you’d play there – opener, mid set monster and end of set bomb – to eddy@remixupdate.co.uk. I’ll choose the one I like best.

Scoop 3: Our tent always reflects the show, so The Silent Disco in there will become The Darkside, where you’ll hear some heavy weight dark-steppaz like The Bug and King Cannibal scare the living crap out of people in headphones. It should be utterly amazing and literally jaw dropping as, and this could be Scoop 4, we’re planning 3D Visuals in there too… imagine! Headphones and glasses for all! We will be blowing minds and causing freak-outs in equal measures I feel.

Scoop 5: I’m really saving this one for next week, but I’m going to get your juices flowing in the meantime by saying this: Get ready (drumroll) for the return of… REMIX NIGHT. Oh yes! We have found the best venue for it, and it’s worth the wait, believe me.
