Secret Garden Party

So, Faithless have been revealed as surprise late additions to this year’s Secret Garden Party – quite an event in that Sister Bliss, Maxi Jazz et al aren’t playing anywhere else this year.

Says Bliss: “Really looking forward to playing at Secret Garden Party. As well as being a brilliant line up in a magical setting, it’s also our first time playing there, so we can’t wait to find out what delights are in store! Think you may find us enjoying Rebel Bingo after the show… it’s going to be a Crazy English summer for sure!”

Yeah, that it certainly is. As is a game-changing tranche of new names over at Wales’ Festival No 6, as now features added My Bloody Valentine, Slow Club and Public Service Broadcasting, this in addition to its existing main attractions Manic Street Preachers, Chic feat Nile Rodgers, James Blake and Everything Everything.

And hey, Bestival has a new arena! Its name is Temple Island, and – this via Rob Da Bank – is billed as “a brand new totally ace fusion of styles from festivals like Burning Man and Portugal’s Monegros festival with a cutting edge global electronic DJ collective… half hippy, half techno warrior”. Yay. Acts playing to that theme include T Williams, London Grammar, Maribou State, Cyril Hahn and Eton Messy; aligning with Bestival A-listers like Fatboy Slim, Elton John, Snoop Dogg, MIA, Franz Ferdinand, Wu-Tang Clan and Flaming Lips.
