So, what’s new in European festivals? Well, rock-themed all-dayer Hit The Deck is to expand into twice the event it once was, hosting near-identical band listings across both Bristol (20 Apr) and Nottingham (21 Apr).

Meanwhile, Butlins-based rave Southport Weekender has shared the first phase of its 2013 bill – as features Kerri Chandler, Miguel Campbell, Goldie and David Rodigan – and continental dance-athon Ultra Europe has unveiled its headlining DJs Avicii, Armin Van Buuren and Carl Cox.
