Festival line-up update – 12 Dec 2012

As new appointees at 2013’s Bloodstock Open Air festival, Slayer, aka one quarter of thrash metal’s ‘big four’, now share headlining credits with King Diamond and Lamb Of God. So, that’s nice, as is this pre-festival speech by the band’s guitarist Kerry King: “Can’t wait to hit the stage at Bloodstock Metal Festival in England? Fuck yes! It’s going to be hell on earth and I’m looking forward to having a party with all my British friends!”

Also new in the realm of artist additions to rock festivals are Stone Sour, who are now part of next year’s Download roster, and thus will compete for decibel-exceeding supremacy with the likes of Bullet For My Valentine, QOTSA, Motorhead and, last but not least, headliners Slipknot, Rammstein and Iron Maiden.
