Download comparison website launches
By CMU Editorial | Published on Wednesday 5 August 2009
A new website allowing consumers to compare prices on various download platforms has launched in the UK. CompareDownload.com launched this week with a database of over 10 million tracks, displaying prices from iTunes, Amazon MP3, 7Digital, Play.com, Tesco Digital, TuneTribe and We7.
The site’s co-founder Darren Sher told MusicAlly: “Through our ground-breaking search technology, CompareDownload brings transparency to the music download industry”.
The site is a little clunky at the moment, and compares downloads only on price with no mention of other factors (like sound quality) which might influence buyers. Though it does also offer star ratings for track, concert info, videos and reviews.
