Diplo pitching EDM film

Diplo is to immortalise ‘the EDM craze’ in a new film, apparently. At least, that’s what Deadline is saying, the site having confirmed that 20th Century Fox has acquired rights to the “untitled pitch”, which is based on three teenagers going to a Diplo show.
The film has alternately been billed as “Eminem and Christopher Walken at a Manchester rave” (this via an email to The Fader from its one of its creators, Diplo business associate Kevin Kusatu) and “‘8 Mile’ meets ‘Project X’ in tone”. If and when it’s ever made, Diplo will act as its executive producer.
