DIIV announce UK shows
By Andy Malt | Published on Thursday 4 February 2016
DIIV have announced UK tour dates for next month, which gives you plenty of time to get comfortable with new album ‘Is The Is Are’. Well, just about, given that there are seventeen tracks on it. Too many tracks, you might say. And you’d probably be right. Anyway, it’s out on Friday, so we can decide then.
No, let’s decide now. Seventeen tracks is too many. Seriously, everyone stop putting seventeen tracks on your albums. It’s not big or clever. In my day artists had the balls not to release their shit songs. Or at least to just make them b-sides. And even if you do record seventeen solid gold tracks, it’s still too many for an album. Keep some for yourself. The public don’t deserve to have your best stuff anyway. They’ll only waste it. EPs featuring only music you’re just about comfortable releasing is the future. No more, no less.
Oh, we were talking about tour dates, weren’t we?
